Her last held position was as the Deputy Chief Operating officer of SOS Children’s Villages International. She is known for her fair & resolute leadership, excelling at nurturing and empowering teams to realise their full potential. Her expertise spans child rights, gender parity, emergency relief, sustainable development & negotiations with multiple governments. During her work life she has worked in and with 04 continents covering over 65 countries. Her career in multicultural environments has taught her to leverage differences in traversing complex situations, upholding the interests of varied stakeholders and finding solutions. Her passion for making a difference, her ability to navigate complexities, and her dedication to fostering growth and inclusivity make her a true catalyst for driving positive transformations. Rima has been involved in research, communication, advocacy, training and M&E of intervention programmes in the development sector for almost two decades. Her expertise lies in the domains of health in general, women’s health and mental health in particular, gender empowerment, gender and sexual diversity and inclusion and issues of the marginalised groups. She is passionate about communicating her work through an easy-to-understand language and adapting them for varied and wider target groups. She has published books and articles and presented her work in international conferences. She holds a PhD, an M.Phil. and a Master’s Degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi

Peter Yaro
Peter Yaro is a passionate mental health advocate, and social development worker. He has over two decades of experience, in leading development programmes in multicultural contexts working with, some of the poorest, from deprived and remote locations of Ghana. Peter is currently the Executive Director of BasicNeeds-Ghana, the organisation he has been in, over the last 18 years. He has worked with several NGOs, including Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO), ActionAid and World Neighbors and a stint with the civil service of Ghana in the Centre for National Culture of the National Commission on Culture.

Currently, as a Principal Consultant at the PANIIT ALUMNI FOUNDATION, she plays a pivotal role in guiding business development and project management teams, with a strong emphasis on gender diversity. Stella's distinguished career includes ground-breaking contributions at CII, where she influenced private sector engagement in Skills Development, Disaster Management, Affirmative Action, and more. She's been a member of government-appointed committees and continues to collaborate with IIT Madras for impactful project implementation.

She collaborates with global organizations like WHO, CBM, and Grand Challenges Canada, and serves as Convener of FPCCI's Mental Health and Development Committee. Her mission is to empower marginalized women through mental health integration and vocational skills, fostering resilience and inclusion.
